Examples of great abstracts from a variety of fields

Today I wanted to share links to recent articles that I find to have very well written abstracts for different reasons.

 

Botany: http://www.amjbot.org/content/early/2016/08/23/ajb.1600053.abstract --> This abstract is clearly written and concise.

Medicine: http://www.nature.com/articles/srep35069 --> This abstract is clearly written for someone outside of the field of medicine. It is also a methods paper, and this is clear from the abstract.

Ethnobotany: https://ethnobiomed.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s13002-016-0119-6 --> This abstract is clearly delineated into sections.

Genetics: http://www.pnas.org/content/early/2016/10/03/1613365113 --> This abstract is straightforward and to the point.

Anthropology: http://science.sciencemag.org/content/354/6308/110 --> Short and written for the layman.
